G. Bisi and D. Bertonelli (Q8 Hi Perform): “Proud of the road shared, quite aside from the final result"

20 September - With the engines of the 2019 edition of the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia now cool, for the Q8 Hi Perform team it is time to take stock of the competition debut together with driver Diego Bertonelli.

"For me and for the whole Q8 Hi Perform team it was a really intense experience, full of enthusiasm and fun, which sadly did not lead us to the desired results," says Diego Bertonelli, official driver of the Q8 Hi Perform team. “We fought race after race, and suffered bad luck, but always with the sporting spirit that characterizes these competitions. It was a great season, despite the final result. However, I am very proud of what we did together with the team. I thank Q8 Hi Perform for the great opportunity to represent its colours in such an important competition,” concludes Bertonelli.

A race weekend full of tension and adrenaline just ended at the Monza Autodromo Nazionale circuit in the last round of the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia 2019. Despite his excellent qualities that see him today as one of the most promising young drivers, Bertonelli got a sixth place in race 1, following a contact, and a second place in an exciting race 2, with a sprint finish involving the three drivers on the podium. Bertonelli consequently positioned himself in second place in the overall classification, on a par with another driver.

"Today we are concluding a six-month journey, which unfortunately has not seen us reach the initial goal. But we are very proud of what our driver managed to show on the track, race after race. Diego, who ended his experience with us today, has proven to be a great driver, with an uncommon maturity in managing the many complicated situations that arise in a race,” says Gherardo Bisi, Marketing Director of Kuwait Petroleum Italy. “Analyzing the season, leaving aside the final result, we had the confirmation that our choice to invest in young talents in competitions of this calibre is correct. Next season we will continue on this path and we will do it with a new driver, David Fumanelli, winner of the “Race! Il Prossimo pilota” talent show, aired on Sky during the year. We invite all our fans of this historic competition to come back next year, always with Q8 Hi Perform at the forefront of new goals,” concludes Bisi.

During the race weekend at Monza, in fact, David Fumanelli got the better of his opponent Paolo De Conto in the “Race! Il Prossimo pilota” talent show and has earned the leadership of the Q8 Hi Perform team on the grid for the 2020 edition of the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia.
