Porsche Italia, Q8 e Enel X insieme

Padua/Rome, January 20, 2021 – An additional boost to the development of electric mobility: this is the shared goal of the recent agreement involving three exceptional partners—Porsche Italy, Q8, and Enel X. The collaboration aims to establish ultrafast charging stations in 20 Q8 service areas by the end of 2021. The High Power Charging (HPC) stations, managed by Enel X, offer a power capacity of 300 kW, allowing two electric vehicles to be charged simultaneously in just a few minutes.

Once active, the ultrafast stations will be integrated into Porsche's mobility ecosystem and will also be visible on the Enel X JuicePass app, joining the more than 12,000 charging points that Enel X already operates across Italy.

The agreement also provides that one charger and its corresponding parking spot at each activated station will be reserved exclusively for Porsche customers, allowing them to recharge their Taycan and future electric models from Stuttgart with greater ease and reduced waiting times. At the Q8 station charging points, the Taycan—with its 800-volt architecture—will be able to recharge to 80% in about 20 minutes.

Pietro Innocenti, CEO of Porsche Italy, commented: “Thanks to this partnership, we can offer our customers a complete package of charging solutions, making it even easier to embrace zero-emission mobility. This includes the development of a smart ecosystem with different charging options, at home and on the road, including an ultrafast charging infrastructure at our 30 Porsche Centers in Italy and charging facilities in prestigious destinations, such as restaurants and hotels frequently visited by our customers.”

“At this stage of the energy transition, Q8's goal is to contribute to building the necessary infrastructure for sustainable mobility, in order to meet the needs of all consumers, including the growing number who choose hybrid or fully electric cars,” said Giuseppe Zappalà, CEO of Q8. “Thanks to prestigious partners like Porsche Italy and Enel X, the Q8 network will be further strengthened, guaranteeing an electric refueling experience similar in time and convenience to traditional refueling.”

“Electric mobility is increasingly proving itself to be a winning choice, not just an alternative to traditional transport, and the agreement with Q8 and Porsche demonstrates how all players in the value chain are collaborating in harmony to support this transition,” stated Augusto Raggi, Head of Enel X Italy. “We are working to install as many ultrafast charging infrastructures as possible throughout the country because we strongly believe that electric car drivers should not only have access to an easily accessible and resilient network of charging points but also have the ability to refuel as quickly as possible.”

The first ultrafast charging station will be inaugurated at the Q8 service area in Paderno Dugnano (MI), followed by other service stations located at major traffic hubs and seasonal tourism routes, including Carate Brianza (MB), Erbusco (BS), Padua, Perugia, Rome, Naples, Polignano a Mare (BA), Brindisi, and Porto Rotondo (OT).
